MARIE CURIE: A RADIANT WOMAN

In this you say I wanted to talk about one of the most influential woman from the modern history, Marie Curie. I think that it's very interesting to see that a woman in that epoque could achieve the things that she did and how her studies influenced science so much.

Marie Curie was born in Poland in the year 1867, which was then occupied by the Russians, and she belonged to a poor family. Marie had a lot of interest in studying but the little amount of money that the family was receiving wasn't enough to pay them and they decided to waste it in Marie's older sister, so she couldn't have this privilege. Bronislawa, her older sister, got married and that were very good news for Marie because  that meant that his parents no longer had to take care of Bronislawa economically. Marie, taking advantage of this in 1892, introduced herself to the world of physics, focused on the subject of spontaneous uranium radiation. She decided to move to Paris to continue her studies and there he met Pierre Curie, who directed the laboratory of the School of Physics and Chemistry. They had a good chemistry since the beginning and they got married in 1895.

One of the most known is that uranium oxide emitted a much more powerful radiation than uranium itself and the discovery of two unknown chemical elements: polonium and radium. All of this discoveries made them win a Nobel Prize of Pysics in 1903. Also, she is known for the merit of being the first woman to teach at the Sorbonne in Paris.
